Publish a Revit Model

Publish a Revit Model

Introduction

This guide will show you how to package and publish a detached milestone model from Revit to CMap PIM. Please note that the terms CMap PIM and Atvero may be used interchangeably in this article.

Creating a detached milestone

The milestone will be created from a local copy of the model. For workshared models, please ensure that all sessions are synced and closed before starting this process. In order for the add-in to be able to create a milestone, the model should not be open in Revit.

Launch the add-in

From the Home button, select the Atvero tab in the Ribbon and click Publish Model. Click OK to open up an Explorer Window. You can Navigate to synced or published models on Autodesk Docs using the Desktop connector.

Model Publish Options

A detached copy of the model (named ATVERO_PUBLISH_TEMP.rvt) will be created in a dated
folder in c:\temp on your PC.

The Model File Name will need to validate against the parameters as outlined in the setup guide.

View options - if no view sets are defined, only the default 3D view will be retained in the exported model.

NWC - Export a NavisWorks Cache fle and set Export parameters manually or from an .xml options file.

Image 3
IFC - Chose IFC export options from the default settings in Revit or customised in-session settings.

Publish Model

When you are ready to process the model, click Publish. For best results with NWC and IFC it is best to Publish from the default 3D view.

Publish Complete

At the end of the process a dialogue box will confirm that the temporary model can be closed.

The published milestone will now be in CMap PIM, awaiting approval. The attached image is for illustrative purposes only. The processed model will not be opened automatically but can be found in the same directory as the temporary model if checking is required.
