Configure Revit Parameters

Configure Revit Parameters

Introduction

Configure Revit parameters for Atvero.

This task would normally be undertaken by the Project BIM Coordinator or Manager.

Atvero for Revit

To make use of the Atvero Revit add-in, it is necessary to set Parameters in your model that correspond to Metadata associated with records in Atvero. Depending on your company's BIM standards you may choose to:

•implement this on a model-by-model basis

•embed parameters into your Templates

•use a Shared Parameters file to manage the preparation of models. This process could also be automated with Dynamo.

The following steps show how to deploy Atvero parameters into a project with the following naming format: Project Number-Originator-Volume-Level-Type-Discipline-Number

Transfer Parameters

Firstly, you need to download and open the relevant Template model from setup.atvero.com.

To transfer Atvero Parameters:

Open both the model you wish to configure and the downloaded template model in the same Revit session.
• Go to the Manage Tab in the model you wish to configure and select Transfer Project Standards.
• Select the Template model in Copy From:
• Choose to copy Project Info and Project Parameters.

Atvero Parameters

The following parameters will be added to your project:
• Atvero.Date
• Atvero.Volume
• Atvero.Level
• Atvero.Originator
• Atvero.Role
• Atvero.SheetSize
• Atvero.Revision
• Atvero.Project
• Atvero.Number
• Atvero.Type
• Atvero.Status

Note: If you get a message about Duplicate Types you should select New Only.

Project metadata

Go to the Manage tab in Revit and select Project Information. The following fields in the Data-section need to be populated with information:

Atvero.Originator - This is your Company Code in Atvero
Atvero.Project - This is the External Project Code that will display in the Title Block on your Sheets (it may differ from "Project Number" below)
Atvero.Role - This is the Project Role code (if defined) in your naming Scheme

Below this in the Other section you should add:

Project Name - A descriptive Name for the Project
Project Number - Important! This is your Internal Billing Code and must match the site name of your
Atvero Project.

If the Project Number does not match the Internal Billing Code (site name), Atvero will not be able to recognize your project.

Configure the Title Block

The easiest method for transferring labels from the Template Sheet Family to your project model is to use Copy/Paste in the Family Editor:

• Open both the Sheet family in the Template model and in your Project
• Select all the Title Block elements in the Template model
• Copy them to the Clipboard
• Go to the Title Block Family you wish to use in your project and paste in the felds
• Position and format them to suit your corporate standards
• Save your Title Block family and apply it to your Sheets

Finish

Finally, test that Validation and publishing work from Revit.
