Pending Revision (Revit)

Pending Revision (Revit)

Introduction

This guide will give you an overview of pending revisions when using the Revit Plug-In. Please note that the terms Atvero and CMap PIM may be used interchangeably.

Pending Revision

The most common reason for a Sheet to fail validation is a missing blank (Pending) revision in the table.

Make sure you Enable the Pending Revision on your Sheet

To manually set your Revisions Click Next.

To automatically sync your Revision Table(s) with CMap PIM select 'Sync Revision History'. The Add-in will automatically create a new Pending revision every time it Publishes.

Sync Revisions

When you Sync Revision History, the add-in will populate the Revision Table with all Transmitted versions of the Record in CMap PIM, the date of issue and the Description. It will also mark the Revision as 'Issued' in the Revit Schedule.

Remember: Before you can Validate you will need to show the 'Pending' revision on your Sheets.

Revision List

Manually create the Revision

• Check that there is a 'Pending' revision in the Sheet Issues/Revisions table
• Show the 'Pending' revision in the sheet view

Once the view has been set you can return to Validate and Publish.

Alternatively, follow the instructions below to Sync Revit revisions on selected sheets with CMap PIM.

Select 'Edit...' against the Revisions on Sheet view property and tick 'Show in Revision Schedule' for Pending.

Open the Revisions Table via the Sheet Composition/Revisions button in the View Tab in the Ribbon.

Date and description must have the word 'Pending' for Validation to work.

Revit Revisions with CMap PIM

The Revit Revision tool and associated scheduling functionality is extremely useful for tracking changes and updates to Sheet views in Revit models.

Unfortunately, prior to Revit 2022, it also has limitations when applying ISO 19650 standard Revisions on Projects.

This article describes the approach taken by CMap PIM to reconcile Revit Revisions with variable 'P' and 'C' prefixes through the Project lifecycle.

This functionality in the Add-in is optional and enabled by selecting CMap PIM Revisions checkbox in the interface.

The method adopted pre-pends the 'Revision Number' to the Revision Description field in Revit.
