How to use Revit Revision Clouds with CMap PIM. Please note that in this article the terms Atvero and CMap PIM may be used interchangeably.
Revit Revision Clouds with CMap IM
Revit has powerful and easy-to-use annotation tools to enable quick and easy mark-up of changes through the information release cycle. There are however, discrepancies between how the inbuilt tool and International Standards like BS EN ISO 19650-2 manage the Drawing Revision process.
This article suggests one possible workflow for managing drawing Revisions in CMap PIM whilst making full use of the inbuilt Revision Cloud tool to annotate Drawing Sheets.
In order for this process to work your model will need to be configured to work with CMap PIM as set out in:
• CONFIGURE REVIT PARAMETERS
• CONFIGURE REVIT REVISIONS
Place Your Cloud
First, in the Sheet you intend to annotate select the Revision Cloud tool from the Annotate Tab. Place the Cloud and ensure that the Properties are correctly populated:
1) Revision Cloud
2) Ensure the correct Revision Series is associated with the Revision Cloud
3) Populate Revision Cloud Identity Data with a Unique (by the sheet) Mark.
4)Add Comments
Tag and annotate
To display the Cloud ID and Mark you need to go to the Annotate Tab and select Tag by
Category. Make sure you select the Atvero Revision Cloud Tag.
1) Place the Tag on the Sheet against the relevant Revision Cloud
2) Select Cloud ID and Comment ID as the Type
Add Comments
To display comments in the Title block you repeat the process.
1) Change the Type to Cloud Comments
2) Untick Leader
3) Place the Comment
