"File Already Exists" Error When Creating Template Documents

"File Already Exists" Error When Creating Template Documents

If you get a "a file with this name exists" error when creating a new template document, it is likely that the project's AutoNumber counter may be stuck.

Why this happens

CMap PIM tracks the next available document number per naming scheme segment using an internal AutoNumber counter, the counter can sometimes get stuck at a number that has already been used.

How to fix it

To resolve this issue, the AutoNumber counter must be corrected within the Project Settings. This action must be performed by the CMap PIM Support team.

If you need to upload a document before the correction has been made, you can manually enter the required document number in the Number field.
