Adding Users to a Hubsite

Adding Users to a Hubsite

NOTE: During the install, the Global Admin will add themselves as the first Hubsite Owner. Only Hubsite Owners can add other Hubsite Owners, so the below process will need to be carried out by the Global Admin until another Hubsite Owner has been added.

After installing CMap PIM, you will want to start adding users to the Hubsite so they can access the project sites and begin uploading documentation and drawings.

So, let's take a look at how we add users to your CMap PIM Hubsite:

Hubsite Homepage

  1. Head to the Hubsite home page and click on 'Site access' in the top right-hand corner.

Site Access

2. As you can see there are three tiers of users: Site Owners, Site Members and Site Visitors. Users will be assigned with certain permissions depending on the tier they below to.

Here's a breakdown of each tier and the permissions they have:

Site Visitors : Can view Hubsite content and access the project sites via the 'Projects' tab.

Site Members: Site Visitor permissions + can edit the layout and look of the Hubsite.

Site Owners  (used interchangeably with the term Hubsite Owners): Site Visitor & Member permissions + can create new project sites via the 'Manager' tab, configure permission and site settings and additional Site Owners (Hubsite Owners).

Assigning Access

3. To assign access to a user, search for their name in the blank box field.

Select them from the dropdown.

By default, they will be assigned 'Read' permissions (this will assign them to the Site Visitor tier).

If you want to change this, click on the drop arrow next to 'Read'.

Full control assigns them to the Site Owners tier.

Edit assigns them to the Site Members tier.

Confirming Access

4. Once you have assigned them to the relevant tier, click on 'Share' at the bottom of the Site Access panel.

The user will be notified by email they have been added to the Hubsite, unless you untick the 'Send Email' box.

Finished!

Congratulations, you now know how to add new users to your Hubsite! If you have any further questions or run into any issues, please contact CMap PIM Support.
