Creating an Empty Document Record
Introduction
How to create an empty record in CMap PIM
Navigate to Records
From the project homepage, click on Records in the left hand menu.
Document Record
Click on the three dots icon to extend the drop-down and click Create Records. Then click New
Empty Record, then Document Record.
Provide Information
Provide the information in the Create Empty Document Record panel. For the most part, the
fields that are required will make up the record's document number, which you can see a preview
of at the top of the panel.
When you change the values included in the document number, the number field will automatically calculate the next available number based on the values selected.
The default values that appear when you first open the panel can be modified per project. To
get help changing the default values contact us using the contact form below.
In general, the more information provided during the creation process, the easier it will be to find your records using filtering.
Mark your Record as Project Control File if the record is important within your project. This will make it easier for new users within the project to find the important files more easily.
Create
When you have provided all the correct information, click the Create button at the bottom of the
panel.
If you wish to create another empty record with similar information, click the Create + button to keep the creation panel open. The next available number will be automatically generated.
If a number is not available for use, but you cannot see it in the records list it may be that this number is reserved for a confidential record which only project owners can view.
Empty Record
Once successful, the panel will close and you will now see your empty record in the records list.
When you upload a revision with the same document number as the empty record, the revision
will be placed into the record.
Finished
You have now successfully created an office document in CMap PIM.
