AutoCAD
Using the AutoCAD add-in with Revisions
Introduction
This guide will run through the process of publishing Sheet Layouts from AutoCAD to CMap PIM.
This guide assumes that you will be managing your own revisions and revision schedule in AutoCAD.
First run
When AutoCAD is launched for the first time you might be prompted to load the CMap add-in. If you are, click the 'Always Load' button.
Sign-in to Microsoft 365
Once AutoCAD is loaded you should see a CMap Tab added to the Ribbon.
Open the Tab and select Choose Atvero Account. This will open the Microsoft365 sign-in window which will link AutoCAD to your Atvero Project. The add-in uses the Atvero.Project attribute which must correspond to the Atvero Project Internal Billing Code.
Required Attributes
In order to function, the add-in requires certain Blocks with Attributes to be placed in the Layout you wish to publish.
In the supplied Titleblock you should have all of the CMap PIM metadata components and there is a Block that can be placed for the revisions themselves.
To create a new revision, a Blank revision Block needs to be placed on the Layout. The default
values should be left as:
•Rev
•Date
•Do Not Edit
You can place a Block by clicking 'Add Atvero Revision Block' from the CMap Tab in the Ribbon. See the 'Configure AutoCAD' link below for configuration information. The process will not work without a blank Revision block.
Atvero add-in
Launch the Add-in by clicking 'Publish to Atvero'. The add-in will launch and check for alignment of the Layout with a CMap PIM Project. If you get a Project Error you will need to check your configuration.
Validate
Each of the Layouts in your file will show in the interface. To check on the existence and status of the Record in Atvero you will need to Validate. Upon Validation, the add-in will display the current status of the Record in Atvero and allow you to populate the Revision, Comment, Classifcation and Status values. You can validate individual Layouts by selecting them. A selected layout will highlight in blue. You can choose to rename your layout to match the Record by clicking 'Update Layout Names'. If no Layout is selected, Validate will apply to all. If there is no blank Revision Block in the Layout the Message column will display 'No Revision Block Found'.
Publish
Before you Publish you should populate:
1.Revision
2.Status
3.Classifcation (optional)
4.Revision Description
When you click Publish the selected Layouts will be updated with the new information and uploaded to Atvero.
The add-in will display 'Published to CMap. 'You can upload PDF and DWGs to CMap PIM. XREFS will be appended in a .Zip file to the Layout unless you choose to Bind. Remember to Save your Drawing with the new information!
Finish
Congratulations! You have successfully Published to CMap PIM from AutoCAD.
It will now need to be approved in CMap PIM before it can be issued.
