Creating an Empty Drawing Record
In this article, we will explore how to create an empty drawing record on CMap PIM. Empty drawing records can be set up on a project before drawings are uploaded. By doing this, users can ensure drawings follow the correct naming convention and also ensure drawing names are used for the correct purposes.
Now, let's look at how to create an empty drawing record.
Navigate to Records
From the project homepage, click on 'Records' in the left hand menu.
Create New
Click on 'New' then 'Empty Drawing Record'.
Provide information
Fill out the information in the 'Create Empty Drawing Record' panel. Required information will be indicted by an asterisk. As you input the information, the drawing number at the top of the panel will automatically update.
The 'Number' field will also automatically update, however, you can manually override it if necessary.
Create the Record
When you have provided all the correct information, click the 'Create' button at the bottom of the
panel.
If you wish to create another empty record with similar information, click the Create + button
to keep the creation panel open. The next available number will be automatically generated.
Creation successful
Once successful, the panel will close and you will now see your empty record in the records list.
When you upload a revision with the same document number as the empty record, the revision
will be placed into the record.
Finished
You have now successfully created an empty drawing record in CMap PIM!
