Importing Contacts

Importing Contacts

Importing contacts

This feature allows Admins to generate a large amount of contacts in one go, or import them from a previous system via spreadsheet.
To import a spreadsheet on contacts, you will first need to export your spreadsheet to a csv document, we provide an example document for download. You can only import contacts from a csv into the Hubsite. It is important that the file matches the example.

Navigate to the Contacts list

From the Hubsite homepage, click Contacts in the side bar menu. This feature is only available on
Hubsites and not projects.

Open the Import panel

Admins will see the Import Contacts button in the Command bar above the list.
Click to open the panel.

Download the example template

A csv is a text file with a simple spreadsheet format. We use this because under normal circumstances
an Excel spreadsheet is incomprehensible to a browser.
It is important that the import data comes in the shape Atvero expects, you may download the
example template we provide.
You may open the example template with Excel to fill it in, then export again to csv to upload to
Atvero. This will guarantee the file is correct. Only "Full Name" and "Email" are strictly required in the
csv file. Other values can be selected later though it is recommended to provide as much information as
possible.

Drag and drop the spreadsheet

Once you have a valid csv file with the contacts you want to import, drag and drop the file into the dotted
section.
At this point Atvero checks the existing contacts to identify duplicates and checks that each
email address hasn't been used already.
If it fails to identify some piece of information we provide opportunities to correct that.

Inspect the contacts

Inspect the contacts

You should now see a row for each contact.

•A red row represents invalid data.

•Yellow indicates that required information is missing and must be selected.

•A white row indicates that everything checks out and we can create this contact. Once you are happy with the contacts you may click Import to trigger the process.

Report

As CMap PIM creates the contacts you will see progress updates.
Once it is finished it will indicate for each contact whether it was successful.
Click Dismiss to clear the panel to import more contacts or close the panel.

You have now successfully imported Contacts into CMap PIM!
