How to use CMap QMS - Task Users

As a task user, you are responsible for completing the QMS tasks assigned to you by their set deadlines. This article shows you how to find your tasks, work through them, and update their status so your team and Project Managers can see your progress.

Key points: Access your assigned QMS tasks from the Tasks tab on the Hubsite or on the project site, answer the task question in the pop-out panel, and update the status to In Progress or Complete as you go.

What it does

QMS tasks are assigned to you with a deadline. Each task contains a question for you to answer as part of your project's quality management workflow. Updating a task's status keeps everyone on the project informed — other team members and Project Managers can see whether work has started, is underway, or is finished.

When to use it

Use this whenever you have QMS tasks assigned to you that need answering before their deadline, or when you want to record that you have started or completed a piece of assigned work.

How to complete a task

  1. Open your assigned tasks from either the Tasks tab on the Hubsite or on the project site.

  2. Click on a task to open the pop-out panel.

  3. Read the task question and answer it accordingly.

  4. If you need to return to the task later, set the status to In Progress so other team members and Project Managers know you have started work on it.

  5. Once you have finished, go back to the pop-out panel and set the status to Complete. The task is then shown with a green Complete status.

Task statuses

StatusWhat it means
In ProgressYou have started work on the task but have not yet finished. Set this if you need to come back to the task later so the rest of the team knows it is underway.
CompleteYou have finished the task. It is displayed with a green Complete status.
On Hold The task is currently on hold. You can set this if there is a delay with completing the task.
Not StartedThe task as not been started. You can set this to indicate the task has not been started.

Tip: Keep an eye on task deadlines and update your status as soon as you start work, so Project Managers always have an accurate picture of progress.
