Configuring Azure Storage for CMap PIM CheckPoint
To use CMap PIM CheckPoint requires setting up of an Azure storage account dedicated and configured to store transmitted content.
If Azure is new to you, we'd recommend you start with our hosted Atvero CheckPoint where we take care of storing your transmitted information for you.
Your information is held in a storage location dedicated to your account. Configuring Azure from scratch requires setting up a subscription with Microsoft and attaching a payment method and is beyond the scope of this guide.

How to set up Azure Storage for CMap PIM CheckPoint
In order to host your CMap PIM Exchange transmitted information in your own Azure tenancy, you will need to set up an Azure Storage Account.
- Log into your Azure Portal, and search for storage and choose Storage Accounts
- Click the Create button to create a Storage account.
- Choose the subscription you want this storage usage billed to, and then create a new resource group by choosing Create new under the resource group field. Enter a name that will allow you to remember what this resource group is for easily.
- Choose names that will help you remember what these are for. We recommend atveroexchange for the storage account name.
- Choose a region appropriate for your company - for our UK customers we recommend UK South.
- Choose standard performance.
- We recommend Geo-redundant storage to ensure you have an always available copy of issued information.
- Click Next: Advanced
- The Advanced setting should look like the screen below. Make sure you have enabled "Enable storage account account key access".
- Scroll down and choose Hot: Optimised for frequently accessed data and then click Next to Networking
- Ensure "Enable public access from all networks" is selected. The files protected by access control, so aren't accessible without being given access through CheckPoint, but the storage itself must be publicly accessible.
- We recommend enabling "Enable soft delete for blobs" as this allows for file recovery of deleted files, but you may choose not enable this to save space.
- Unless you have specific requirements, leave all the defaults selected
- Review the details and when happy press the Create button
- Once the storage account has been created, you will find it in your Storage Accounts list.
(You can go straight there once the deployment of the storage account is completed by clicking the "Go to resource" button that appears).
On the left hand menu, choose Access Keys. On the screen that appears, click Show keys and then copy the value under key1 from Connection string.
WARNING: Once you have the connection string, contact your consultant or CMap PIM Support to arrange secure transfer of the key. Do not send this in an email as it's important to keep this connection string secret.
We need a storage container to store the transmitted files in.
From the left hand menu, click Containers (under Blob service) Click + to create a container Give the container a name, check public access level is set to Private, and click Create.
Make a note the name given to the container as this will be needed by CMap PIM support.
Please have the following ready to share with CMap PIM support:
•The storage account name
•The container name
•The connection string
