Updating the Question Type After Import

NOTE: This guide is for ADMINS who have imported their QMS data

When importing your QMS data, Yes/No will be the default question type for your tasks. There may be cases, however, where this needs to be reconfigured to suit your desired QMS workflow. In this guide, we will take a look at how to update the question type after you have completed your QMS import, and what alternative question types you can use. 

Updating the Question Type

1. Head to the QMS Admin tab.
2. Click on the 'Tasks' tab.
3. Find the task you want to update.
4. Click on 'Edit' in the Actions column.
5. In the 'Question Type' field, select the question type you would like to use from the dropdown box.
6. Select a Task Order - this determines the display order within the task group, with the lower numbers appearing first. 
7. Click on 'Save' to confirm the changes.

Question Type - None

For this question type, task users aren't required to submit an answer or evidence for this task. When they open the task, the pop-out panel will say 'No question is defined for this task'.

Question Type - Text

For this question type, task users will be provided with a text box so they can type out their answer.

Question Type - URL

For this question type, task users will be asked to paste a relevant URL into a text box. 

Question Type - YesNo

For this question type, task users will be asked to answer 'Yes' or 'No' to the question. 

You can set up follow up questions depending on if a task user selects 'Yes' or 'No' using the 'Yes Followup' and 'No Followup' boxes. 

You won't be able to select another Yes/No question type for these follow-up questions, so remember to pick an option that suits your workflow. 

Question Type - YesNoNa

Similar to Yes/No but includes a 'Not Applicable' option. You can also add follow-up questions for Yes/No responses but not for N/A.

Question Type - Files

With this question type, a task user can link a Record from the project's Records area.

Question Type - Predefined

With this question type, the task user will be asked to select an answer from a set of predefined responses. 

You can set up these answers using the 'Predefined Answers' box. 

Question Type - Templated

With this question type, task users will need to download a selected Microsoft Office template, add the relevant information, and then reupload it. 

As part of this question type set up, you'll need to select which Microsoft Office template you need this to be. If you would like to use this question type, contact the CMap PIM Support team as they will need to link your Microsoft Office templates to the QMS area in the back end. 

Question Type - People

With this question type, task users will be asked to tag another person. There's also a text box below for them to add in any accompanying information.
